Jinja Regional Referral Board Honours Outgoing Management Board
6th July 2026, Jinja – Jinja Regional Referral Hospital held a farewell dinner at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja to honour its outgoing Management Board as it successfully concluded its three-year term of office.
The Management Board served from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2026, providing strategic leadership, policy guidance, and oversight that strengthened governance and supported the hospital’s mission of delivering quality, accessible, and patient-centred healthcare services to the region.
The ceremony brought together members of the outgoing Management Board, selected hospital staff, leaders from Jinja City, the Area Member of Parliament, Dr. Timothy Lusala Batuwa, and a delegation from the Ministry of Health. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the Board’s achievements and recognise its invaluable contribution to the growth and development of the hospital.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Komakech Salim, the Resident City Commissioner of Jinja City, commended the outgoing Board for its dedicated service, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing healthcare service delivery at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital. He applauded the Board’s role in supporting initiatives aimed at improving patient care, institutional performance, and operational efficiency.
The outgoing Management Board was chaired by Dr. Charles Mukisa David, while the Hospital Director, Senior Executive Consultant Dr. Alfred Yayi, served as Secretary to the Board. Throughout its tenure, the Board provided strategic direction that contributed significantly to the hospital’s continued progress in service delivery, infrastructure development, and institutional management.
In recognition of their exemplary service, members of the outgoing Management Board were presented with plaques of appreciation as a token of gratitude for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment during their term of office.
Speaking at the event, hospital leadership expressed sincere appreciation to the Board for its steadfast guidance and support, noting that its legacy would continue to inspire future leadership and strengthen the hospital’s pursuit of excellence.
The farewell dinner concluded with a renewed commitment from hospital leadership, staff, and stakeholders to build upon the strong foundation established by the outgoing Management Board as Jinja Regional Referral Hospital prepares to welcome a new Board to continue advancing quality, equitable, and patient-centred healthcare services for the communities it serves.
