Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following Local contract positions tenable at the hospital under the G2G Project – USAID/ Jinja Regional Referral Hospital Strengthening Activity  to be submitted to the address below not later than Wednesday 14th September 2022 at 5pm.

N.B: All staff recruited under this project will be given employment contracts by the hospital. These are full time jobs, so people already holding full time Jobs should not apply and salaries will be based on Government scales.

01 Post Senior Community Linkage Coordinator

Qualification Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Education, SWSA, Development Studies, Community and Adult Education, Community Psychology, or Guidance and Counselling

Post graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, HIV/AIDS Counselling Certificate is desirable

Supervision skills and TOT in community care

Five (5) years’ experience in a HIV/AIDS counselling work, two (2) of which should have been in a supervisory position.

Duties and Responsibilities 1.      Provide technical support in the creation, management and maintenance of functional peer support groups (PSG) in the different program clinics.

2.      Develop, harmonize and manage departmental work plans and budgets.

3.      Supervise and monitor implementation of department activities.

4.      Lead the provision of care, treatment and support services to PLHIV at the Facility and communities.

5.      Conducting refresher trainings of the psychosocial team.

6.      Coordinating community trainings and sensitization meetings.

7.      Review community and facility program reports program reports.

9.      Coordinate facility based clinics and community outreach activities.

13.  Ensure effective follow-up of clients in the clinic to improve client retention in care.

14.  Ensure all HIV Positive individuals are linked into care, treatment and support services.

15.  Provide support to the Program Coordinator on partnership issues related to counselling, community and social support activities and psychosocial activities.

16.  Carry out performance planning, review and appraisals for the subordinates staff in the department.

3.      Counsel mothers and caregivers on infant, young child and adolescent nutrition

Qualification Diploma in Statistics (Statistical Computing Option), Computer Science, Medical records, Information Technology or any other related field from a reputable institute.

At least one years’ experience in data management or demonstrated relevant experience acquired through internship placement.

Should have computer skills, Knowledge of HMIS tools,

Skills in DHIS 2,EMR,

Knowledge of USAID reporting will be an added advantage

Duties And Responsibilities 1.      Work closely with the facility records officers and Data Officers to quantify the HMIS and non-HMIS tools needed to ensure sustained data collection at the health facility.

2.      Work closely with the facility records and data officers to mentor and coach other health workers on appropriate use of HMIS data collection tools for data capture.

3.      Work with Data Officers to ensure proper filing and file retrieval during patient care and updated patient records in Uganda EMR (Open MRS).

4.      To ensure that HIV care data captured on patient forms during patient visits is transcribed to pre-ART and ART registers and updated in the Uganda EMR (Open MRS) on time.

5.      Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly data not reported in DHIS2 and submit it to the Data and records Officers on time.

6.      Ensure that accuracy and confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained at all times in proper filling and archival systems.

7.      Ensure that the entered data are backed up regularly and the data are well protected.

8.      Perform basic data analysis on data from HMIS data to inform teams on the progress of interventions at the supported facility

9.      Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1.      Provide quality and comprehensive counseling services to clients, their partners and other family members (pretest, post-test, adherence support & intensive adherence counseling)

2.      Conduct assessment of patients for HTS and provide necessary psychosocial care.

3.      Participate in the process of empowering patients with skills for self-reliance and make appropriate succession plans.

4.      Refer and link clients to appropriate medical and psychosocial support.

5.      Provide technical support to facility and community volunteers on HIV/AIDs and TB awareness and document success stories.

6.      Conduct health education talks on HIV prevention and other HIV related issues.

7.      Conduct home visits to clients/patients and their family members.

8.      Offer index client counseling and testing to house members of facility clients she/he is attached too.

9.      Support linkage volunteers in linking clients to appropriate health and social services.

10.  Counsel and initiate PrEP to high risky populations at the facility and the communities served.

11.  Document key out-put in the relevant MOH data capture tools.

12.  Participate in the compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on key HIV/AIDs and TB indicator.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, IT, Computer Science and Social Sciences.

Post-graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation is desirable.

At least 3 years’ of relevant professional experience in leading M&E processes, including routine health and survey data management and survey activities for complex health systems strengthening and/or service delivery programs.

Experience with providing HMIS support in a Health Systems Strengthening approach, in HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning, maternal, newborn and child health, or nutrition is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1.      Work with the Program Coordinator to implement robust M&E systems, identify and monitor key program activities to document results and attribution.

2.      Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to inform programing

3.      Conduct data verification and quality control & improvement activities to ensure quality DHIS2, HIBRID, ODK ,PIRS (includes HIBRID-DHIS2 synchronization), and other data is collected

4.      Work with the technical leads to determine technical and logistical needs for strengthening the program M&E system.

5.      Track monitoring indicators of the program and periodically provide data to the project team (includes ensuring designing data driven high impact interventions).

6.      Establish and maintain a system to track availability of HMIS tools, patient files, and logistics for proper storage of patient records and share with the Program Coordinator.

7.      Ensure that patient registers are updated in time for HMIS reporting as required by the program.

8.      Build capacity of project teams to understand project AMELP indicators, including PEPFAR indicators as well disseminate and explain project targets within the project teams.

9.      Ensure HIBRID (PEPFAR indicator data) data is entered timely in HIBRID system, as well as additional project data entered in project data management platforms (ODK, SURGE data, PIRS, EMR, KP-TRACKER,TB-INFO,DATIM, Client AUDIT Tools)

10.  Participate in the planning for dissemination and lessons learned and present results of program achievements and outputs in written reports and power point presentations in conferences and meetings. Qualifications: Should have an Ordinary Level Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent with credit in English.

Possession of a valid riding permit at the time of recruitment is mandatory.

Experience in motorcycle riding, and knowledge of motorcycle maintenance.

Good knowledge of road Safety and traffic regulations.

The person should possess good knowledge and skills for proper handling and transportation of infectious and hazardous substances.

Previous experience with PEPFAR funded programs.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1.      Support transportation of laboratory specimens and test results for Viral Load, EID, TB GeneXpert, CD4, CBC, Chemistry and histopathology tests, including samples/test results for COVID-19 and other outbreak investigations, from/to health facilities served by the hubs, within the recommended specimen age and defined Turn Around Time (TAT).

2.      Support electronic tracking of Laboratory samples and test results from lower health facilities through the hubs, using a mobile tracking APP.

3.      Maintain proper records for motorcycle mileage, and submit monthly fuel accountabilities through the hub coordinator to the USAID-RHITES-EC project Senior Administrative Officer.

4.      Ensure regular maintenance of the Laboratory hub motorcycle, in liaison with local service providers (garages), and keep records of motorcycle maintenance.

Qualifications: Must have a Certificate in Enrolled Midwifery.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1.     Receive patients, register admissions, discharges and deaths.

2.     Carry out antenatal care with emphasis on identifying high risk cases and refer them to hospital.

3.     Provide care during labor with emphasis on keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complications to mother and baby.

4.     Provide care during puerperium with emphasis on prevention of infection and ensure successful breast feeding.

5.     Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.

6.     Participate in Doctors/Clinical Officers ward rounds.
